Working with community-based partners to develop local and statewide policies aimed at reducing exposure to ashtma triggers in multi-unit primarily low-income neighborhoods in Los Angeles. The following ashtma triggers are targeted: pesticides and pests (cockroaches).

  • Improve asthma knowledge and competency of health care professionals and community health workers, with a high priority on those serving underserved populations.
Working with area community clinics to train health professionals on the misuse and overuse of pesticides in urban settings and the associated health consequences as well doctor's requirement to report all pesticide poisoning cases to the county.

  • Support policies and community plans that improve conditions for people with asthma.
Work with numerous community-based organizations and coalitions to support policies that reduce expsoure to outdoor air pollution, specifically diesel particulate matter.
