The California Department of Health Services (CDHS) sponsored the development of the Strategic Plan (Plan) for Asthma in California in partnership with a multidisciplinary group of stakeholders throughout California. The purpose of the Plan was to set a direction for asthma and help make a difference in people's lives who have asthma over the next three to five years.
Asthma is a complex disease that needs a broad range of experts to work together. This includes public health professionals, health care providers, community members and organizations, professional organizations, health organizations, ethnic organizations, school organizations, environmental organizations, researchers, local leaders, and people with asthma and their families.
The Plan was developed following the statewide summit entitled, "Asthma in California: Laying the Foundation for a Statewide Strategy."
The Strategic Plan for Asthma in California was released in 2002. To view the Plan, click the Strategic Plan (PDF) button on the on the left.
